hi i'm trying to learn this ipv6 thing. i have configured the computer using windows vista according to the instructions and i keep getting "not passed" on the explorer test ipv6 connectivity. I created a tunnel and still nothing. I need someone with more expertise on this to lend a hand
many thanks
Your tunnel must not be up
Are you behind nat? If so, did you later the commands you used to reflect the correct ip address?
i am using an AT&T modem that i think uses NAT. I have tried ' ping ipv6.he.net' from the command line and get back "could not find host ping"
Please post the output of ipconfig and the commands you used to create the tunnel
ipconfig
ethernet adapter local area connection
connection-specific DNS suffix.....:gateway.2wire.net
Link-local IPv6 address...............:fe80::c4e6:8b9c:b916:4c21%10
Ipv4 address.............................:192.168.1.66
subnet mask.............................:255.255.255.0

Tunnel adapter local area connection*6:
media state ..............................: media disconnected

Please post the commands you used to create the tunnel
yes sir im trying to locate the advanced page which had them
does the advanced page with the commands "go away" once you execute the commands?
Shouldn't. Check under tunnel details
ah.. ok many thanks.. i feel like an idiot
tunnel[1-5] routed/64 /48
johnceg-1.tunnel.tserv9.chi1.ipv6.he.net 2001:470:1f11:1168::/64 None
Not that
Click on your tunnel name, then click on example configurations.
Is that what you used to create your tunnel?
here we go :
netsh interface teredo set state disabled
netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel interface=IP6Tunnel 99.108.19.241 184.105.253.14
netsh interface ipv6 add address IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f10:1168::2
netsh interface ipv6 add route ::/0 IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f10:1168::1
As I figured
Go back to the page where you got those commands and look below where it says "note"
it stated that if i was behind a firewall i need to locate my ip4 address from my DHCP service,
so when i used the ipconfig it showed my ip4 address as
192.168.1.66
rather then what is listed
99.108.19.241
is that assumption correct?
and that is what i need ot change?
Yes you need your nat address instead of your public one
hello?
Where are you stuck at?
