I have a question and this seems to be the best place for it. When I build my OpenBSD router for my condo, I fudged up my firewall rules and I was blocking some, if not all ICMP6. I've since fixed things but one symptom that I noticed of the problem was that my network clients preferred to use addresses in the range: 'fdd9:...'. Is this address range a self assigned range like the 169.254.x.y range in IPv4? For those that understand pf, my firewall ruleset lacked a rule to allow all traffic on the internal interface:
pass on $int_if
I can't imagine what I was thinking when I set this up. Any help towards clarity would be appreciated.
