Title: It seems my ipv6 endpoint is sometimes given to others?
Post by: green on July 15, 2008, 06:53:53 PM
If I look at the reverse DNS for my tunnel's ipv6 endpoint, it has PTRs for 2 other users. I noticed because one of them earned me a k-line on efnet.port80.se (*** Banned Temporary K-line 14400 min. - Drones (2008/7/10 00.23)). I only ever use irc.ipv6.he.net since the latency is so low, and with one client, so I was mildly surprised.

I wonder if there's a way to avoid this? Does it happen when an attempt to ping my ipv4 endpoint doesn't work for some reason?

PS. Thank you for the service!

Looks like an artifact from a since resolved tunnel ID allocation bug from 6-7 months ago, just DNS never got cleaned up.
I've removed the other entries.
