One note, I found that when I wanted to view results, schedule, etc... I was redirected to results.beijing2008.cn which appears to be IPv4 only.
Actually I tried with your link, but I got nothing. May be I am using IPv4.

Seeing as it is an IPv6 only hostname, yes you probably weren't on IPv6
$ host ipv6.beijing2008.cn
ipv6.beijing2008.cn has IPv6 address 2001:252:0:1::2008:6
ipv6.beijing2008.cn has IPv6 address 2001:252:0:1::2008:8
