Title: ipv6 tunnel on Cisco RV042, is it possible?
Post by: azerbinati on June 20, 2012, 09:08:57 AM
Hello everybody,
i've try to do some research,  but i did not find any answer: is it possible to configure a Cisco RV042 to do Ipv6 tunnelling with HE?

I have static IPv4 on WAN1 (and dinamic on WAN2) but no native IPv6 by ISP.

Thanks in advance!

Product info doesn't even list IPv6, so probably not. You might be able to run the tunnel to something behind it, if it allows Protocol 41 through.

Actually, the product is IPv6 enabled and also offer 6to4 Tunnelling, but all i can found is about how to configure the RV042 to tunnel through a Cisco RV220 (here the link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/csbr/app_notes/RV0xx-RV220W_IPv6_AN_OL-25493.pdf (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/csbr/app_notes/RV0xx-RV220W_IPv6_AN_OL-25493.pdf))

RV042 firmware seams very closed to advanced configurations... I'm about to give up, I was hoping someone knew about RV042 and had already succeeded in setting up.

Thank you anyway!
