Title: IPv6 tunnel for Apple Airport and dynamic IPv4 address?
Post by: ajmas on June 23, 2012, 08:14:34 AM
My IPv6 tunnel has stopped working and I am suspecting this is because the router in front of my Apple Airport has changed its external IPv4 address. Are there any solutions to getting an HE tunnel to work with a connection that has a changing IPv4 address? Also, if this is not the cause any ideas on how to diagnose the problem?

Just for background: I used to be using 6to4 with my Apple Airport, but recently my ISP (Bell.ca) decided to put a router in front of mine. This router is a 2wire and it blocks protocol 40 (I am behind a NAT), and is not user configurable, so 6to4 is no longer an option. I decided to go with HE and this had been working for a few days, but since a power cut I have not been able to establish my IPv6 tunnel. So, I am desperately looking for a way to get back onto the IPv6 internet.

There multiple ways to do this... If you search around the forums, you'll find any flavor you want .  basically you run a script to see if your ip has changed and if it it has, update it
