Title: Dynamic Prefix for IPv6
Post by: ralphrmartin on October 22, 2017, 12:57:54 PM
My ISP gives me an IPv6 prefix which changes from time to time. Is there some way of just updating the ipv6 prefix for HE DDNS AAAA records? I want to give DDNS entried for a set of machines in the same domain, and when my ISP changes my IPv6 prefix, to just call in once to HE to give the new prefix, rather than having to go through each machine one by one.

That's what the A6 record type is for.  Pity.  It went from proposed standard to experimental to historical.

A6 might still be implemented by some DNS software that never was updated to remove it.  Snoop around.
