Title: LAX1 tunnel update occasionally fails even if it says success
Post by: LGA1150 on October 22, 2018, 01:44:22 PM
It keeps bothering me for a few months, so I finally decided to open a topic here..
My ISP uses PPPoE and it terminates PPPoE session every 48 hours. So I have to use dynamic update API.
When this problem occurs, both the webpage and the API say the endpoint IP is updated, but the tunnel is broken. I think the endpoint IP on the tunnel server is not updated.
The only way to solve it temporarily is to 'force reload' the endpoint IP again, i.e. manually change the IP on webpage to another one then change back immediately or just re-dial to get a new IP.

I have not experienced problems as you describe, but I use DSL with DHCP, not PPPoE, at both my locations with the LAX server.

As long as you don't reboot the router, the IP won't be changed (DHCP renewal), so you are less likely to encounter this problem
