Title: Dynamic DNS on macOS global hostname
Post by: Ishtvan on July 16, 2021, 06:31:16 AM
Hi friends,
Seems macOS has a native option to use DDNS.
In System Preferences > Sharing > Computer Name > Edit... its name is Use dynamic global hostname.

Now I'm trying to force it to work.

I made some records as described here https://help.dyn.com/bonjour-and-dns-discovery/ (https://help.dyn.com/bonjour-and-dns-discovery/) and here http://fmepnet.org/2015/05/31/old/osx_dyndns/ (http://fmepnet.org/2015/05/31/old/osx_dyndns/) and... nothing.

Is here anybody who has a working global hostname with dns.he.net service?

Thanks in advance

macOS uses RFC 3007 as the mechanism for DNS record updates, which is not supported by dns.he.net.
