Are there any plans to join the M6bone (www.m6bone.net (http://www.m6bone.net)) or otherwise support multicast routing?
I thought that experiment ended in 2006, with IPv6 range 3FFE::/16 being returned to the general allocation pool.
m6bone looks deprecated, possibly since 6/6/06

Deprecated is the wrong word, the academic networks still operate their multicast cloud that evolved from m6bone and other ISPs on occasion have operated tunnels into this on the m6bone side. 3ffe hasn't anything to do with multicast - you're confusing it with the 6bone (something different).
According to the m6bone multicast beacon, there are a number of sites still beaconing. However there are some interesting issues relating to BGP route announcements not being propagated from the m6bone onto the academic NRENs correctly. This is leading to multicast operating in one way only in certain areas.
It would be great if HE could support it, Cisco routers support it out-of-the-box, not sure about the actual tunnel servers themselves, however if it is ethernet, there isn't any reason why it shouldn't be able to in principle...
