Title: Reverse DNS not delegated?
Post by: weq on June 18, 2009, 05:13:33 PM
Afaik I can see on my bind serveres I've configured it all correct.
2001:470:1f08:b1::3 should resolve to loka.info, but when I connect to different ircds it doesn't resolve at all.

You should use the correct /64 for rdns instead.

1f08 is the tunnel, and you don't get to control rDNS for that. You do get to delegate for 1f09, which is what you should be using for custom rDNS.

LOL.  Those can be a bit hard to spot I've found.

When I first set up my tunnel, I was confused 'cause I thought my routed 64 was the same as my v6 tunnel endpoint address because I simply didn't see the one changed character.   ;D

Maybe you guys should bold the differences so that temporarily blind people like me can immediately see it?  i.e.:

Client IPv6 address:     2001:db8:cf04:beef::2/64
Routed /64:                2001:db8:cf05:beef::/64

Or something similar.  :P
