Hello

I'm using windows 8 and i've been trying to make a tunnelbroker tunnel work for a long time .

I copied and pasted the commands

netsh interface teredo set state disabled
netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel 78.158.128.159 216.66.84.46
netsh interface ipv6 add address IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:27c::2
netsh interface ipv6 add route ::/0 IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:27c::1

I didn't get any error but i can't access any ipv6 site .

Here is my ipconfig and route print

C:\Windows\system32>route print

As you can see i also have gogo installed , but not working at the moment . I have tried again without gogo being installed to check if it interferes , but it still doesn't work !

Can anyone help please

Kind regards

shak

broquea

on the second line of the commands you ran, change 78.158.128.159 to 192.168.1.3

shak85

Thanks for the response

Now i get the message

C:\Windows\system32>netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel 192.168.1.3 21
6.66.84.46
You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. If joinin
g a domain, go to System in Control Panel to change the computer name and try ag
ain. If joining a workgroup, choose another workgroup name.

shak85

So i have tried to fix it

netsh interface ipv6 show interface

netsh interface ipv6 delete interface=x

Tunnel was deleted  and then i tried your suggestion to replace the ip , still nothing . I don't get any error but nothing happens , not a single attempt to connect .

cholzhauer

does your NAT device pass protocol41?

shak85

How do i check that ?

i have linksys wireless router , i know how to access router settings but where to check for that ?

cholzhauer

You use something like wireshark to look at packets.  You can also put your host in the DMZ, but that doesn't always work

shak85

Maybe i should try the DMZ option , but shouldn't i get an error if that protocol wasn't supported .

I mean it works ok with gogo6 and sixxs .

But i want to try tunnelbroker , what ip should i use at the DMZ ?

cholzhauer

Nope, no errors.

You need to put the IPv4 address of your computer in the DMZ of the router

shak85

In my case is 78.158.128.159 or 192.168.1.3 ?

Sorry for the noobish questions , i'm not that network savvy  ::)

shak85

Thanks for the response but still no luck

I enabled DMZ , tried the following commands again

netsh interface teredo set state disabled
netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel 192.168.1.3 216.66.84.46
netsh interface ipv6 add address IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:27c::2
netsh interface ipv6 add route ::/0 IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:27c::1

Everything goes ok  no error messages

And then my connections becomes limited , and i can't browse any sites at all . When i run netsh interface ipv6 show interface , it says connected next to IP6Tunnel  but i can't access any site

cholzhauer

Then your router is probably not passing proto41.

What model of router do you have?

shak85

Btw after unplugging and plugin again my router , it seems to work  i mean i can access the web but again no ipv6 connectivity .

So DMZ is enabled but still no connectivity . Shouldn't there be a sign that it connects with the batch ? I mean with gogo6 and sixxs , when i click the connection icon on my taskbar i could see a new network , and windows was trying to identify it , but with the batch nothing happens .

My model is

LINKSYS WRTS54GS V7

cholzhauer

Did you breakout wireshark and see if your router is passing protocol41?  Without that info, we can't do much more to help you.

If you don't want to use wireshark, you'll have to get a modem that for sure supports IPv6
