Just a note, but the Windows questions in the Enthusiast Technical Test are somewhat misleading.  There is indeed the ping6 and tracert6 commands, or the standard IPv4 commands can be used with the -6 option.

Trick questions on a test? That never happens! ;D Open book tests are hard!

Depends how technical you want to get

BTW, with certain flavors of Linux, "traceroute" now does both IPv4 and IPv6 - i.e. there is no longer any "traceroute6" program.

I thought it funny that I had traceroute6 installed on my 10.10 workstation but no traceroute. Then again I generally use MTR, so still haven't installed it  ;D

When I try to reply to my lone thread, I get this, even when I wait 10 seconds between clicks:
An Error Has Occurred!
The last posting from your IP was less than 5 seconds ago. Please try again later.

If I then wait another 10 seconds I then get:
An Error Has Occurred!
You already submitted this post! You might have accidently double clicked, or tried to refresh.

Nothing winds up getting posted.  I've tried this with both IE and Firefox so I don't think it's a browser issue.  FYI.

P.S. Sorry to post this here, but I tried to PM broquea about it.  For that I got:
The letters you typed don't match the letters that were shown in the picture.

Errr, what picture?  There is no captcha image displayed.  LOL

Well, with the Slackware distribution of Linux, 64-bit version 13.1, there's no separate IPv6 program.  With version 10.2 (32-bit only), there was.  All I can say is that for some distributions, there is only one traceroute program now.

i assume youve tried swtching computers and seeing if the problem follows your acct or the computer?  my first reaction is that your computer has a ipv6 address,  but your tunnel isnt working.  that would create a long delay while the connection timed out and fell back to ipv4

pcreager

No, I'm not running IPv6 on this box.

(let's see if this posts...)

Funny, my old Windows XP has it:

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\>tracert6

Usage: tracert6 [-d] [-h maximum_hops] [-w timeout] [-s srcaddr] target_name

Options:
-d             Do not resolve addresses to hostnames.
-h max_hops    Maximum number of hops to search for target.
-w timeout     Wait timeout milliseconds for each reply.
-s srcaddr     Source address to use.
-r             Use routing header to test reverse route also.

C:\>ping6

Usage: ping6 [-t] [-a] [-n count] [-l size] [-w timeout] [-s srcaddr] [-r] dest

Options:
-t             Ping the specifed host until interrupted.
-a             Resolve addresses to hostnames.
-n count       Number of echo requests to send.
-l size        Send buffer size.
-w timeout     Timeout in milliseconds to wait for each reply.
-s srcaddr     Source address to use.
-r             Use routing header to test reverse route also.

On XP you have to manually enable IPv6 support.
