PPTP connection drops....

I have been using the pptp service to tunnel my ipv6 traffic back to Tunnel Broker, as it's my belief that my ISP blocks sit encapsulation. It mostly works great, but every now and then I have a period of unstability in the pptp connection and the connection drops. In the logs of my Linux firewall I'm seeing the following logs:

Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1067]: anon log[decaps_gre:pptp_gre.c:414]: buffering packet 78 (expecting 77, lost or reordered)
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1067]: anon log[decaps_gre:pptp_gre.c:414]: buffering packet 80 (expecting 77, lost or reordered)
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1067]: anon log[decaps_gre:pptp_gre.c:414]: buffering packet 82 (expecting 77, lost or reordered)
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1080]: anon log[pptp_read_some:pptp_ctrl.c:544]: read returned zero, peer has closed
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1080]: anon log[callmgr_main:pptp_callmgr.c:258]: Closing connection (shutdown)
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1080]: anon log[ctrlp_rep:pptp_ctrl.c:251]: Sent control packet type is 12 'Call-Clear-Request'
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1080]: anon log[pptp_read_some:pptp_ctrl.c:544]: read returned zero, peer has closed
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pptp[1080]: anon log[call_callback:pptp_callmgr.c:79]: Closing connection (call state)
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pppd[1081]: Modem hangup
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pppd[1081]: Connect time 0.9 minutes.
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pppd[1081]: Sent 8415 bytes, received 67341 bytes.
Sep  5 21:19:16 darkstar pppd[1081]: Connection terminated.
Sep  5 21:19:21 darkstar pppd[1081]: Exit.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I need to get some sniffer dumps to get a better idea of what's happening, but I'm still having some PPTP stability issues. I've been able to replicate the issue everytime I visit http://ipv6.he.net/certification/account.php and http://www.v6.facebook.com.

Usually when PPTP drops, I see logs like I previously posted or like this:

Sep  7 19:57:23 darkstar pptp[3363]: anon log[pptp_read_some:pptp_ctrl.c:544]: read returned zero, peer has closed
Sep  7 19:57:23 darkstar pptp[3363]: anon log[callmgr_main:pptp_callmgr.c:258]: Closing connection (shutdown)
Sep  7 19:57:23 darkstar pptp[3363]: anon log[ctrlp_rep:pptp_ctrl.c:251]: Sent control packet type is 12 'Call-Clear-Request'
Sep  7 19:57:23 darkstar pptp[3363]: anon log[pptp_read_some:pptp_ctrl.c:544]: read returned zero, peer has closed
Sep  7 19:57:23 darkstar pptp[3363]: anon log[call_callback:pptp_callmgr.c:79]: Closing connection (call state)

Is anybody else having PPTP stability issues?

liuxyon
