Configuring IPVP on XP SP3
« on: May 02, 2011, 12:34:52 PM »

I have installed the Advanced Network Pack on my XP machine i ran c:\ netsh interface ipv6 install
command, I have attempted this on at home and recieved a ICMP error? I could ping the ip address in question. I am attempting to try this on yet another laptop at work using FIOS connection, what do i install? any hints on troubleshooting? Please let me know and i will complete etc!

Gonna need a bunch more info.

All you need to install is the IPv6 stack, which it looks like you've already done

What error are you getting?

If you used your public IP and they were unable to ping it, you'll get an ICMP error

You need to allow ICMP, not a port.  Remember that port != protocol.

What router do you have?

it says i have a tunnel built stupid question does this routing table mean yes i do?
Target 68.184.182.27
Hop Start 1
Hop End 30
Hop Packet 1 Packet 2 Packet 3 Hostname
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10gigabitethernet1-2.core1.sjc2.he.net (72.52.92.110)

6 74 ms 75 ms 85 ms crr01tfwotx-tge-0-1-0-6.ftwo.tx.charter.com (96.34.2.105)
7 64 ms 75 ms 74 ms dtr01ftwotx-tge-2-2.ftwo.tx.charter.com (96.34.113.67)
8 82 ms 66 ms 74 ms 96-34-113-37.static.unas.tx.charter.com (96.34.113.37)
9 61 ms 62 ms 61 ms 96-34-113-123.static.unas.tx.charter.com (96.34.113.123)
10 72 ms 65 ms 75 ms cts41ftwotx-gbe-1-0-1.ftwo.tx.charter.com (96.34.113.105)
11 74 ms 89 ms 97 ms 68-184-182-27.dhcp.ftwo.tx.charter.com (68.184.182.27)

That's a traceroute.  In windows, you display the routing table by "netstat -nr"

What is your public IP?
