Title: Is it needed to use ipv6 route advertiser daemon (rtadvd)?
Post by: avenger on June 16, 2009, 11:28:41 PM
When using the tunnel breaker, is it enough for me to just set up my routes on the IP stack (ip route add blah blah), or shall I set up an instance of rtadvd in order to the routes to work correctly?..

Thank you.

By the way, is it true that he.net pings my 'Client IPv6 address' from time to time to check if the tunnel is active and, if not, deactivate it? (unrelated question, no problem if no one knows, it might be around in any faq or in the forum)

If you statically configure your IPv6 addresses and routes, there's no need for a route advertisement daemon.

I don't know about HE's ping/deactivate policies.
