Title: Prob w/ IPv6 HTTP File Request / DNS Caching?
Post by: darkpixel2k on September 07, 2009, 01:59:24 PM
I've seen a few posts regarding the IPv6 HTTP request test failing, and it being a cache problem.

When I initially took the test, I forgot to issue an 'rndc reload heyaaron.com'

It's been about 30 minutes, and I've verified heyaaron.com is IPv6 reachable and I can grab my test file.

aaron@hoth:~$ wget -6 http://heyaaron.com/sdkja8d8ou.txt

Resolving heyaaron.com... 2001:470:1f0f:1f7::3

How long does it take for the cache to timeout?

Apparently it's somewhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours.  ;)

i'm having the same problem, i can retrieve the file using the hex format but if i use the fqdn, it does not connect.
