Title: reverse dns for my routed /48 using he free dns
Post by: markzimm on June 05, 2010, 03:22:15 PM
Greetings:

I am trying to set up reverse dns for my routed subnet with the new free dns hosting service at he. I tried specifying a prefix of 2001:470:nnnn::/48 and also this one: 2001:470:nnnn:1000::/64.

In both cases, it said: ERROR: Delegation was not found. Please delegate to ns1, ns2, ns3, ns4 and ns5.he.net then retry.

Am I doing something wrong or is this something I am not permitted to do?

I set up forward dns with no problems.

Thanks.

Where are you entering this info?  The rdns info goes on the page containing your tunnel info

Make sure that in the broker you have it delegated to our NS.
Then in dns.he.net, you should see the zones, that you can edit entries for.

Thanks for the hint. I was trying to do it all at dns.he.net but I had not updated the settings for my tunnel. RDNS works now.
