Auto populate reverse zone PTR records

Dear all,

I have 16x /24 IPv4 blocks for which I have been delivering reverse DNS using BIND and the lovely $GENERATE feature in BIND. Now, I am trying to migrate some of these blocks to dns.he.net beta for reverse dns. I have successfully opened an account and added the first reverse zone however, I am struggling to enter 255 PTR records (x16) one by one.

Does anyone know of any tricks which can be used to create or import multiple PTR records at once?

I am aware that BIND zone import is something that is being worked on as an enhancement - so, I request the developers to consider adding BIND $GENERATE compatibility in the imports as well.

Any thoughts / notes will be much appreciated.

(However, for some reason, I couldn't get it to resolve to a web site today.  DNS works, but that's as far as it gets.  The web server must be broken.)

Add the zone as a slave zone with your current server as master.  Wait for it to load.  a) leave it that way - keep your $GENERATE  b) click "Convert", and he.net will copy the zone to he.net as the master.
