No, you need to assign the address on your PC.

You can assign it two ways; command line and GUI.  The GUI is easier; add it the same way you would a static IPv4 address, but double click the IPv6 adapter instead of the IPv4 one.  Add an address from your routed /64.  The gateway is the HE side of the tunnel.  If you have a IPv6 DNS server, you can list it; otherwise, you can use HE's

RealRedHair

Sorry but I'm not sure. So you mean I have to enter information in the following place:

Could you be so kind an tell me exact what I have to enter where? Thanks

cholzhauer

Yes.

What is your routed /64?  If it were 2001:db8:1234:1::/64, you could use 2001:db8:1234:1::1 for your IP address.  The prefix length should automatically change to 64.

The gateway is the address of HE's side of the tunnel.  If you have an IPv6 capeable DNS server, enter it.  If not, you can add HE's..2001:470:200::2

RealRedHair

Nearly there :) Only default gateway is not clear to me. Where do I find HE's side of the tunnel? Under tunnel Details on HE?

Now I get this:

OK, can you do a lookup?

nslookup ipv6.google.com

If that works, can you ping it?

ping ipv6.google.com

Does your router pass protocol 41?

RealRedHair

Sorry both request gave "timed out". So something is still not correct I'm afraid.

cholzhauer

Yep, you're not connected.

Do you know if your router/firewall passes protocol 41?

What is the output of ipconfig /all and netstat -nr now?

I have a Zyxel 2602H-63 modem/router and do not know if it allows protocol 41. If I google on the modem and protocol not much information is available. See http://www.tunnelbroker.net/forums/index.php?topic=411.0 and https://www.sixxs.net/forum/?msg=setup-557823 stating it does not support proto 41. So what now?

cholzhauer

If it does not support protocol 41, you cannot use a HE tunnel; you will need to stick with SIXXS or GoGo6
