Hello!

I have a problem with Hurricane tunnel. Before I used gogoclient but recently connecting is a problem. With Vista I used Sixxs which worked fine (but hard with Windows 7 I understand). That's why I started with Hurricane tunnel. Have Windows 7 64 bits with still installed gogoclient. I have a static IP behind a router. I use the internal IP.

Quotenetsh interface teredo set state disabled
netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel 192.168.1.35 216.66.84.46
netsh interface ipv6 add address IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:d90::2
netsh interface ipv6 add route ::/0 IP6Tunnel 2001:470:1f14:d90::1

Results in:

Somehow there is an duplicate name. My computers in my workgroup have different names so that's not the problem. Any suggestions??

Thanks

Did you see

Or from

So for the other people with this problem:

-First delete the interface you created (with the command netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel [public ip] 216.66.22.2):
netsh interface ipv6 delete interface IP6Tunnel

-and then start over again but use your local ip:
netsh interface ipv6 add v6v4tunnel IP6Tunnel [local ip] 216.66.22.2

RealRedHair

Thanks for your quick reply :) :). Looked at several other posts but could not work it out due to a lake of understanding of netsh commands. Tried to delete the tunnel but did not work.

Now I succeeded but the two second messages remain: "The object already exists". How to delete them first also?

Can I have Hurricane tunnel and gogoclient next to each other or even have both running?

cholzhauer

You can only have one adapter named IP6Tunnel, and I think I remember reading somewhere that the adapter has to be called that for the HE stuff to work

broquea

If this is 64bit, make sure you use:

interface=IP6Tunnel

on that first line. For some reason 64bit requires that format and 32bit doesn't (but it works on 32bit).

Done; still does not work ipv6. The two second messages remain: "The object already exists".

Try a full IPv6 reset with:

netsh int ipv6 reset

(might need a reboot). That should clear out any duplicate interfaces.

RealRedHair

Thanks. Did a reset and a delete and then the batch file as admin. No errors but still no ipv6 :-[
Any other advise or how to analyze the problem?

cholzhauer

well now that you dont have any errors, can you post a copy of ipconfig /all and your routing tables?

Probably need to stop using the gogo6 tunnel at the same time, which is also not reachable:

~$ ping6 2001:5c0:1400:b::8741

From 2001:4de0:1000:a22::1 icmp_seq=2 Time exceeded: Hop limit
^C

i would agree.  you will also want to assign an ipv6 address from your routed /64 or /48 to your lan adapter

I belief it works: I have 2001:5c0:1400:b::8741 as my ipv6. :)

Gogo6 is reachable but not all the time that's why I want to change to Hurricane.

I do not understand this.

cholzhauer

the address you gave is a gogo6 address, not HE.

on your tunnel detail page, there are listings for a bunch of things.  one of those things says routed /64 (or something close)  you need to ssign an address from that subnet to your lan connection.  so, if your /64 was 2001:db8:1234:1::/64, you could assign 2001:db8:1234:1:1 to your lan connection

Oh that's a good one; I'm still on the gogo6 and not on HE.

How do I manage to assign the address. Do I need to do that in my Zyxel modem? What are the exact details?
