Anyone tried to run IPv6 HSRP through to a lan via Cisco ISL trunks before? (for client dgw)
Thx

Well since ISL is a layer 2 thing the switches shouldn't really care if your HSRP instance is running on IPv4 or IPv6. At least I would think that would be the case.

Although you'll need to be using HSRP version 2 before you can start using HSRP in IPv6. It looks like this was first introduced in the 12.4T IOS line.

On the 7200 platform v2 came in in 12.2(33)SRA...however bug-ID CSCEC22813 may provide the answer to my problem ...not tried the "workaround" yet...(create a dummy sub-interface using dot1q encap on the same interface and this should make the v6 Data-link ISL work)....

Simple v6 ping r1 to r2 accross ISL was not working.

Will let you know...

Thx
